杂七杂八

        最近杂七杂八地看书，或是在开车的路上听书，时常有一些让我有灵光一现的片段和反思。还没有时间整理和细想，只是趁没有忘记的时候记下来，好不让它们散落在风中。

(一)   Shepherding a Child’s Heart

The way of parenting: Shape the will without breaking the spirit.

The goal of parenting: work with the under-ground to harvest the above-ground; work on building characters spiritually to harvest achievement academically; work from beliefs to values, to characters to behaviors.

Characters: Integrity, honesty, diligence, perseverance, responsibility, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control, purposeful.

(二)    Love

We all know the famous quote about love from Corinthian 13:4, "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things."

Is the definition of love? This is what love does, but not what love is.

What is love?

Love is to nourish and to cherish; to provide and protect, so your loved one will grow physically, mentally, spiritually, and relationally.

Love is to treat whom you love as his own body. 爱首先是自爱。

(三)    Sin

所谓原罪，无关乎律法，甚至无关乎道德，而是在于人和神的关系。“In despair not wanting to be oneself before God”，这是丹麦哲学家Søren Kierkegaard对“Sin”的定义。

这个神可能是耶和华，是玛丽亚，也可能是闽南渔村里三尺之上的神明。所谓原罪，关乎的是人的一颗敬畏之心。

敬畏之心是本能，与生俱来，也可以说是从神而来。无论信与不信，人与神之间的关系，或者换一句话说，人因恐惧的存在而对神的需求，永远存在。每个人的心里都有一个上帝。
